Kathy Olevsky

VPPRN MPA Patient-Partner and Patient Champion

Why do I participate in research?

My name is Kathy Olevsky and I am a patient living with ANCA MPA Vasculitis. Like many patients, my diagnosis took longer than it should have. When I was finally diagnosed at age 50, I was in treatment for 6 years and then had 9 years of remission off treatment. In 2022, I relapsed and had treatment for 6 months and am again, back in remission. I have been involved with several research projects as I believe that my data may help me and other patients like me. Similarly, I make sure to respond to the VPPRN survey when it is released, so that my information might help drive more research. I believe that research will contribute to better treatment options and earlier diagnosis for other patients.”
