Jessica Kent

Patient Advocate

Living with Polyarteritis Nodosa (PAN)

Jessica is a fourth-year medical student, MBA graduate, and vasculitis awareness champion whose journey with polyarteritis nodosa inspired her commitment to improving healthcare access and pursuing a career as a physician.

After experiencing misdiagnoses and navigating a rare disease as a young adult, Jessica turned her experience into action by organizing community flash mob dances in Washington State to raise awareness and funding for vasculitis research and clinician education. Her advocacy efforts have highlighted the challenges faced by patients with rare diseases and the importance of earlier diagnosis and compassionate care.

She also mentors students living with rare diseases, sharing her experiences and providing guidance on balancing school and disease management. Passionate about healthcare innovation and patient empowerment, Jessica continues to support efforts that promote health equity and patient-centered care.
