IgA Vasculitis (Henoch-Schönlein)
Every 6 months, we ask our VPPRN community to check-in and tell us how they are doing. The graphs below reflect the scores/ratings of patients with IgA vasculitis (Henoch-Schönlein) compared to the Network as a whole. Here is what we learned about flares, fatigue, pain, symptoms of vasculitis, and members’ current state of vasculitis at the January 2026 check-in:
- Compared to patients with other forms of vasculitis, patients with IgA vasculitis reported the following:
- more flares reported
- similar scores for fatigue
- similar scores/ratings for their symptoms of vasculitis over the past 28 days
- higher scores for pain
- a similar percentage of patients with IgA vasculitis reported their vasculitis as active

FLARES and VASCULITIS
Flare Reporting: At the January 2026 check-in, patients with IgA vasculitis reported more flares in the past 6 months (32%) compared to 21% in the VPPRN community. This is a trend we have seen consistently for the past 6 VPPRN check-ins from January 2023–January 2026.

FATIGUE and VASCULITIS
Fatigue: Fatigue was common among patients with IgA vasculitis, with rates similar to the broader VPPRN community. At the January 2026 check-in, 89% reported experiencing some fatigue in the past 7 days, compared with 87% across the Network.

SYMPTOMS of VASCULITIS
Symptoms of Vasculitis: Patients with IgA vasculitis reported vasculitis symptom levels similar to those seen across the VPPRN community. At the January 2026 check-in, 19% of patients with IgA vasculitis reported no vasculitis symptoms over the past 28 days, compared with 23% of participants across the Network.

PAIN and VASCULITIS
Pain: Patients with IgA vasculitis reported more pain on average at the January 2026 check-in. 15% of patients with IgA vasculitis reported no pain. This is less than the 28% who reported no pain in the VPPRN community.

MEMBERS' CURRENT STATE OF VASCULITIS
Members’ Current State of Vasculitis: Patients with IgA vasculitis reported active disease at rates similar to the overall VPPRN community. At the January 2026 check-in, 23% reported their vasculitis as active, compared with 21% of participants across the Network.
